MACC Cares

Our Mission

MACC Cares enriches the lives of young people in our community through meaningful music education. We help families of financially disadvantaged backgrounds get access to instruments, lessons, and music education.

Our Vision

We work to remove the barriers many families face so students can freely participate in personal, school, and community music making.

Every student should get a chance to make music

MACC Cares is neighbors helping neighbors. If a student needs an instrument, or a family is looking for a place to start, reach out. Our musicians are volunteers, and many of them also teach. We are glad to help you get connected.

Apply for an instrument

Instrument help

We partner with local music stores, so a request is not limited to what we have on hand. Tell us what the student needs and we will help find a rental or purchase that fits.

Music lessons

Lesson requests go through MACC Cares, not the general educator list. We will connect a family with a volunteer musician or a partner studio when there is a fit.

Donate an instrument

If you have an instrument that is not being used anymore, a student can use it to start making music.

Drop off gently used instruments at Dunkley Music or Dorsey Music and tell them it is for the MACC Cares Donation Campaign. The back-to-school drive typically runs August 1 through September 1, and donations are welcome year-round.
